The FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival is part of Spooky Empire's Horror Convention which will be held October 17-19 at the WYNDHAM ORLANDO RESORT Orlando, Florida. FREAK SHOW film screenings will take place Friday ,Saturday and Sunday during the SPOOKY EMPIRE event.
We expect over 10,000 horror fans to attend this years event, so don't miss out! Films will compete for our "FREAKY" award given out for outstanding achievement in the following categories:

BEST SHORT
BEST FLORIDA HORROR FILM
BEST ACTOR / ACTRESS
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
THE STAN WINSTON SPECIAL FX MAKEUP AWARD
AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD

A special LIFE TIME ACHIVEMENT AWARD will also be given to a filmmaker who has made an impact on the horror genre in his or her career.
Lloyd Kaufman accepts his Lifetime Acheivement "Freaky" at the 2006 Freak Show Horror Film Festival.
 
     
 

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES

The 2008 entry period ends AUGUST 15, 2008, with a final deadline of AUGUST 29 , 2008. We ONLY accept SCREENERS on DVD in NTSC Region 1 format ONLY. Final screening format is DVD, DVD-R or MiniDV. Foreign language films must be dubbed or subtitled in English. Please ensure that all screeners are complete and work correctly before submitting. All films must be clearly labeled, in a DVD case, and accompanied with a completed entry form. Submissions will only be returned if accompanied by a self addressed prepaid mailer.

All submissions received after the August 29 deadline will be considered for the following year's festival. All entry fees must be in US Currency only. We ONLY ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS OR PAYPAL FOR PAYMENTS. Money orders must be made out to "Spooky Empire Inc." ***Festival entry fees are non-refundable***.
SHIPPING
 

Screeners, if selected, can be used for final screening if in proper working order. DVD cases must be clearly labeled with the title of entry, director, and contact information. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Only use BUBBLE PACK envelopes when shipping. ***Please do NOT use fiber envelopes***. DVD's will not be returned unless accompanied by a self addressed prepaid postage package.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Programming decisions are made by a professional selection committee comprised of working industry professionals. If chosen to screen, you will be notified before September 15, 2008. All selected films must be DVD, DVD-R, or MiniDV for screening. The Festival does not pay for rental fees for submitted work to be screened. All entries selected grant the Festival the right to use audio, video, and still images for promotional materials. The Festival will request any artwork or promotional material for use on the website.
