2012 SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
***Please Read Before Submitting Your Film***
Filmmaker Steven Shea with his FREAKY Award for his film "Doomsday County".
We are an International Horror Genre Film Festival. Movies submitted must have some sort of horror elements to be considered for our program. We also accept Sci-Fi films as long as they have horror elements as well. We accept documentaries, comedies, experimental, animation, dramas, ect. as long as they are in the horror genre. We do Not accept any Fan Films.
*We ONLY accept SCREENERS on DVD in NTSC Region 0 & 1 format ONLY.
*Foreign language films MUST be dubbed or subtitled in English or the film will not be accepted.
*Please ensure that all screeners are complete and work correctly before submitting.
*All films must be clearly labeled on the DVD and accompanied with a completed entry form.
*Include Title of Film, Run Time, and contact Email on DVD.
*We require all entrants to submit films in a paper DVD Sleeve. When packaging, protect the DVD in a padded envelope, or similar package. Please do NOT send a slim, jewel, or DVD case.
Submissions will only be returned if accompanied by a self addressed prepaid mailer.
We do Not accept Works In Progress. However, we will consider a Work In Progress if you can give the festival an exclusive world premiere.
Films submitted must be complete when you enter your film. If you are entering a film that has distribution, the festival is not responsable for paying for shipping of DVD’s back to the distributor or if the DVD is lost.
*Entries need to be postmarked on or before each entry deadline. Which means you can mail your entry ON or BEFORE the entry deadline.N THE DVD HOLDER BEFORE SHIPPING.
*** DVD must be clearly labeled with the Title of Entry, Run Time , and Contact Email Address.*** The festival cannot accept responsibility for damaged or loss of materials while in transit. Only use BUBBLE PACK envelopes when shipping. ***Please do NOT use fiber envelopes***. DVD’s will not be returned unless accompanied by a self addressed pre-paid postage package.
***Do NOT send us Press Kits, Posters, or Marketing Material with your entry.*** We will ask for Press Kits for Accepted Films Only.

***Filmmakers that are accepted into the festival will receive 2 Weekend Passes that also get you into Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend worth $100! *** Films selected to screen at the festival will get their own web page on our website with picture and video capabilities. Fans can discuss your film on your page, “like” your film via Facebook, and help spread the word via twitter. Some Select Winning Filmmakers will receive prizes worth up to $1000 which include Sony Editing Software. More Prizes will be announced.***
Programming decisions are made by a professional selection committee comprised of working industry professionals. If chosen to screen, you will be notified before September 7, 2012. All selected films can be DVD or Blu-Ray Disc for Final Screening. All entries selected grant the Festival the right to use audio, video, and still images for promotional materials. The Festival will request artwork or promotional material for use on the website once the film is accepted to screen.
All submissions received after the Final August 27, 2012 deadline will be considered for the following year’s festival. All entry fees must be in US Currency only. We ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS, PAYPAL, and All Major Credit Cards FOR ENTRY FEES.
Money orders must be made out to “Spooky Empire Inc.“
