This years event is coming along great! We moved to a new venue which puts us right next door to Universals Halloween Horror Nights! Now that’s a Horror Fans Ultimate dream come true! It’s going to get FREAKY this year!

We are also receiving some really great submissions from all over the world. Believe us, independent horror is alive and well as you will see this October as we showcase some of the best independent horror films the world has to offer! If you are a filmmaker and still have a movie to submit, you still have plenty of time. Our next deadline for entries is MAY 13, 2013, but if you can’t make that deadline we still have two more! If you want to save money on submission fees the MAY 13, 2013 deadline is the best time to submit as fees will go up after that deadline.

Just a reminder to all the filmmakers out there that our Early Bird Deadline is Monday, February 18, 2013. Entries need to be post-marked on or before the entry deadline. Which means you can mail your entry on or before the entry deadline. If you can’t make the Early Bird Entry Deadline don’t FREAK OUT! Our next entry Deadline is MAY 13, 2013.

Also, we have announced Dates for the this years festival and a New Venue! The dates for the this years event is OCTOBER 25-27, 2013 at our new location at The DoubleTree Orlando at Universal Studios! Yes, horror fans that’s right, we are now located right across the street from Halloween Horror Nights and Universal Studios! This event will be a horror fans wet dream!

The FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival is proud to announce the addition of SyFy Channel’s Ghost Hunters International Star SCOTT TEPPERMAN to the 2013 Festival Jury! Scott will work with other industry professionals to help Judge the 2013 submitted films for the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival. With Scott’s knowledge of the horror genre along with his writing, acting, singing, and filmmaking talents, Scott will be a great asset to the Festival Jury.

ABOUT SCOTT TEPPERMAN

Star of Syfy Channel’s hit show GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL since 2010, Scott has recently begun switching his focus from the paranormal field to his lifelong passion – the low-budget, independent horror genre.

Scott has recently filmed some memorable roles for several notable horror films – including the controversial slasher opus THE HOSPITAL, CREEPY CRAWLY, SCAVENGER, HELL’S LITTLE ANGELS, and the crime-thriller SOUTHWEST. He will also be appearing in several other horror films later this year, including FAT CHANCE, UNBOUND, and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: GENESIS.

 Dedicated to preserving and bringing awareness to many horror films that have been long since forgotten about, Scott released OVERLOOKED & UNDERRATED: 100 FANTASTIC FORGOTTEN FILMS OF HORROR in October 2012. The book became an instant hit with fans and critics alike and a follow-up is currently in the works. In 2011, Scott also served as a judge for the popular BURIED ALIVE HORROR FILM FEST in Atlanta.

 Scott is currently preparing to direct his first feature – the horror/comedy, I SCREAM (which he also wrote) and is also the lead vocalist for the underground hip-hop group, WHITE DEVIL.

 Appearing at numerous events, appearances, and conventions, Scott has gained a large, loyal following in both the paranormal and horror genres and continues to tour extensively in both the U.S. and abroad.

FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival, presented by the Ship of Fear, will honor Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund with the Lifetime Achievement “FREAKY” Award on Sunday October 28, 2012 during their Gala awards ceremony at The Hilton Orlando.  Englund will be recognized for his iconic role as Freddy Krueger where he has scared horror audiences for nearly 30 years and his film direction for films like 976-EVIL and direct-to-DVD feature Killer Pad.

Robert Massetti, the Festival Director, states, “The Festival celebrates the art of filmmaking and exposes audiences to new independent horror films from around the world. We are honored to present this award to Mr. Englund not just for his great role as Freddy Krueger, but also for his huge support for the horror film industry.”

Named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s 20 Coolest Film Festivals and one of the 13 Horror Film Festivals to Die For! The FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival, presented by The Ship of Fear, is a horror genre film festival founded by FEAR FILM Motion Picture Studio’s owner Robert J. Massetti. The Festival is part of Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend, which is the largest horror convention in the state of Florida drawing more than 15,000 horror fans annually. The convention features celebrity guests, bands, tattoo room, vendor room and huge after parties by pool.

In its 7^th year, the festival will take place on Friday October 26 – Sunday October 28, 2012.
