Q: What is the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival?
A: The festival is a 3 day event screening independent horror films
from around the world. The festival takes place October 8-10, 2010 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in the heart of Orlando, Florida. With over 12,000 horror fans attending,
we are one of the largest horror genre film festivals in the country.
We screen films that have not been released to the public
before and are made outside of the Hollywood system. These films are made by the brightest and the best of independent filmmakers in the world. Who knows, you might
see a film from the next John Carpenter or Dario Argento! We also
support the art of filmmaking by providing an audience, support, and promotions
of independent films.
Q: What independent horror films have you premiered?
A: We have premiered several big independent horror films such as:
"The Slaughter" which will be seen on Chiller TV, "Days of Darkness" which is
being released through LionsGate, "The 8th Plague", "Delivery",
the latest HG Lewis film "The Uh-Oh Show", "The Black Waters of Echo's Pond,
"Nightmare Man", "Alien Raiders", "Evil Angel", "Bloody Mary",
Wolf Moon (Formally "Dark Moon Rising") released through LionsGate,
and the list goes on

Q: What films have you helped get Distribution Deals?
A: We have helped the films "Bane" and "I Know How Many Runs You Scored
Last Summer" find major distribution deals with Lono Entertainment.
Unlike other film festivals, we only work with major distributors not hacks.
Q: Can I buy tickets to the film festival?
A: The film festival is part of Spooky Empire's Ultimate Horror
Weekend and your payed admission to the convention will get
you into the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival. Just show your
Pass or Wrist Ban at the door.
Q: How can I submit my movie to this great film festival?
A: Go to our Submission page and read our guidelines for submitting.
Download our official submission form and mail it to us along with your
movie. ***We do NOT Accept Fan Films.***
Q: Can I submit Fan Films or a Film with Copyrighted Material?
A: We don't generally accept "Fan Films" becasue they deal with Copyrighted
characters, story, and music. You must have documented permission
from the copyright holder to use any copyrighted material in your film.
The festival can NOT accept any film using copyrighted material
without documented permission or clearance.
Q: Can I bring food or beverages to the screenings?
A: Yes! Unlike other film festivals, you are able to bring food, drinks
and yes Alcohol into screenings! *You must be 21+ to purchase
and bring Alcohol into screenings.*
Q: Do Celebrities attend the Festival?
A: Yes! They also attend our before and after parties at the pool so
don't forget to bring your swim trunks! Orlando has a growing
film community and is producing more and more indepedent films
than anywhere in the country. Major stars are always in town.
Q: Any words of Advice to visitors?
A: Our screenings do fill up quick so be sure to get to screenings
early. Be aware that we let VIP Pass holders into screenings first. Show
respect to attending filmmakers and please don't talk during the
the movie or leave and come back serveral times. If the filmmakers are
in attendence there will be a Q&A after the film is screened. And remember
to always have FUN!
Q: Any Advice to Attending Filmmakers?
A: Promote! Buy a table in our large Vendor Room. Bring copies of your
movie for sale. We get requests all the time from festival attendees on
how to purchase movies that are screened. Bring fliers, posters, stickers,
anything you have to promote your movie. Remember we have over
12,000 horror fans attending! Talk to other attending filmmakers. It's
not what you know, it's who you know. ASK US TO HELP YOU!
If you need help finding distribution for your film, ask us. We will do
what ever we can to help you and your film, so ask. And always
have FUN!
